The VS4-10 Phoenix Portal is the first platform to incorporate the VFD Twin transmission and F10 portal axles from Vanquish Products. This combination offers features never before available in a kit of this scale. The VFD Twin integrates a selectable overdrive transmission and a 3-stage dig unit into a compact housing. The plastic F10 portal axles are designed to minimize differential housing size and maximize ground clearance around the wheel hub and steering knuckle. The connection between the VFD Twin and F10 portal axles is made using ISD10 axle shafts. These axle shafts feature machined CV joints on both ends and split plastic shafts in the center to ensure smooth and efficient transmission operation.

VFD Twin Transmission
The VFD Twin transmission, with a pending patent, is an evolution of the original VFD. It combines performance, scale appearance, and durability with unique industry-leading features. The VFD Twin is equipped with selectable overdrive and digital rear dig. The two-stage transfer case uses replaceable bearing plates, a brass pivot point for shift arms, and chromoly sliders. Based on the proven Hurtz digital rear dig, the shifting system on the VFD Twin is smooth and reliable. A 6.5% to 46% selectable overdrive on-the-fly provides instant handling changes and tuning options. In the dual frequency drive, the motor is located as far forward and as low as possible. Compatible with 540 brushed and brushless motors*.

F10 Portal Axles
The plastic F10 portal axles benefit from Vanquish Products' extensive experience in aluminum axle design. The F10 axles feature a high-strength construction with an integrated support beam connecting both sides of the axle. Internal brass reinforcements enhance stability and lower the center of gravity.

The Vanquish Products VS4-10 chassis is designed to offer a balanced combination of scale aesthetics and performance. The C-channel steel frame provides scale details, while the front and rear plastic subframes offer rigidity in high-stress areas. Features include provisions for dual servos, winch mounts, and a scale replica fuel cell. The side guards feature interchangeable covers that perfectly complement the Phoenix body. The chassis is optimized for the VFD dual transmission, allowing for deep servo mounting for both dig and overdrive. The machined aluminum Panhard bar is built to withstand extreme off-road conditions. The shock towers house 80mm Incision S8E shocks in a dual shear configuration. The slim front and rear bumpers maximize ground clearance and enhance approach and departure angles.

Suspension:
The VS4-10 comes equipped with 80mm Incision S8E shocks. These shocks feature 8mm threaded aluminum bodies, dual o-ring seals, spring preload collars, locking spring perches, and polished steel shafts. The front 3-link suspension with Panhard bar provides a realistic appearance by concealing the servo without compromising articulation. Stainless steel steering links add weight down low and ensure smooth transitions at the rod ends.
