Description

Shock Absorber Pistons 6x1.4 Flat (outer diameter 15.85 mm/inner diameter 2.6 mm/height 2.7 mm) - Quantity: 2

1 set = 2 pistons of the same type

The outer shape is specially designed to reduce friction and limit wear.

The material has a very low coefficient of friction, is highly wear-resistant, and exhibits much better dimensional stability when in contact with liquids and oils.

In other words, the diameter of the pistons and holes remains constant under all conditions.

Additionally, the material is very resistant and, therefore, will not break during high-impact landings.

The finish is entirely done on a CNC control machine, which includes turning and drilling, with very precise tolerances.

All pistons are laser marked so you can always easily locate the correct piston.

Here is all the detailed information about this third model of pistons from the RSRC website:

Track Behavior Differences (Compared to 8x1.3)

Although they share the same outer dimensions (15.85 mm diameter and 2.7 mm thickness) to fit in shock absorbers of brands like Mugen, Team Associated, or Sworkz, the hole configuration completely changes the hydraulic behavior of the car:

  • Fluid Dynamics: The 6x1.4 mm configuration has a slightly smaller total oil passage area than an 8x1.3, but the individual holes are larger.

  • Effect on the car: This translates into a more progressive behavior. The car feels more "loose" or responsive to small and fast bumps, but offers a much firmer hydraulic support (pack) at the end of the shock stroke, for example, when landing from large jumps or during strong cornering forces at high speeds, preventing the chassis from hitting the ground violently.

  • When to use: It is an ideal setup for fast tracks, with large jumps and a smooth surface or with large and rounded bumps, where you need the shock absorber to stiffen abruptly upon a strong impact.
