The JConcepts team recently tested a new body shell for the 1:8 buggy class at a high-profile event at LCRC Raceway. In the capable hands of Ryan Maifield, the Tekno buggy showcased its performance with the P2 body shell. Originally designed for 1:10 vehicles, the Groveland, Florida team developed this prototype, incorporating styling cues from Spencer Rivkin?s 2019 World Championship-winning body. JConcepts? experimentation with tall stabilizing fins dates back to 2010.

For a fresh season of competition, a small mini fin has been added behind the cab, carefully positioned to avoid interference with the engine head. The popular ramping feature of the P2 extends behind the cab and engine, creating extra downforce and stability. The powerful, wide cab of the Punisher series helps the P2 carve through corners with speed. The cab?s reinforced top and stabilizing fin provide a driving experience reminiscent of the S15. The sidepods are heavily chamfered with dual angles and include multi-angle S15-style winglets.

The windshield features a large recessed design with a rail running along the front and over the cab. At the front, a deflection shield adds strength and aerodynamic versatility. The large windows are a throwback to 1990s racing, offering a low-profile look while dominating both the track and the pits. The rear section is constructed around the engine heatsink, with ramping features to efficiently dissipate hot air.

The body comes as clear polycarbonate with a protective film and is available in standard and lightweight thickness.
