The new ABSIMA LiPo batteries represent the forefront of current development in lithium battery technology and offer new levels of performance. Masterful engineering knowledge, combined with expertise gained in professional sports modeling, has resulted in a generation of optimized performance batteries that are unmatched on the track. The addition of graphene provides the battery with enhanced properties, such as higher energy density, lower internal resistance, higher discharge rates, and a longer life cycle.
Advantages of a graphene-lipo battery:
The ABSIMA Graphene Lipo series can be used as a standard 7.4 V LiPo battery or as a high voltage (HV) 7.6 V LiPo. But what is the difference between the 7.4V Standard and 7.6V High Voltage capacities? Standard LiPo batteries have a final charge voltage of 4.2V per cell when fully charged. Due to the unique hybrid structure of the RS cells, the new type can handle a bit more and can be charged up to 4.35V. This not only translates to more power from the start but also means there is more power in each individual cell, allowing for longer run times.
How are HV LiPo batteries charged?
First, check if your charger has a program for charging HV LiPos. It should be possible to set a final charge voltage of 4.35V. If so, high voltage LiPo batteries can be charged in the same way as conventional LiPo batteries. The maximum charge rate for an ABSIMA Graphene Lipo is 5C (5 times the battery capacity).
Another very important note about the charging process!
Please ensure to reset the final charge voltage to 4.2V after completing the charge of the HV battery. Never charge a standard LiPo battery (7.4V) with a final voltage of 4.35V!
Good to know:
1. A LiPo battery should never be stored fully charged or fully discharged (3V under load / 3.5V open circuit voltage). For optimal battery life, it is recommended to store the LiPo battery in a cool room (for example, in the basement) with a charge level between 50%-80% of its capacity. A LiPo battery charged to 50% has a cell voltage of +/-3.85V.
2. HV-Lipos can also be charged up to 4.2V like normal Lipos. Due to their much more compact design and lower voltage drop at full charge, they still offer greater autonomy.
